Women, Peace and Security

At Human Security Solutions (HSS), we recognize that sustainable peace and inclusive security are not possible without the full participation, protection, and leadership of women. Our work is deeply rooted in the principles of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda, as established by UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and its subsequent resolutions.

Women in Syria have been disproportionately affected by conflict, yet they continue to play essential roles as community leaders, peacebuilders, humanitarians, and justice advocates. We believe their voices must be at the center of any process that seeks to rebuild institutions, reform the security sector, and pursue justice and reconciliation.

Our commitment to the WPS agenda includes:

Supporting the meaningful participation of women in peacebuilding, security, and governance processes
Mainstreaming gender in all our programs on security sector reform (SSR), transitional justice, DDR, and state-building
Providing capacity-building and mentorship to women civil society actors and leaders
Hosting roundtables, working groups, and consultations to elevate women’s priorities and expertise
Advocating for gender-sensitive policy development and security institutions that protect and empower women and girls

Through our Women Task Force, we work with Syrian women from diverse backgrounds and political positions to ensure their perspectives and experiences shape national recovery. We see women not just as beneficiaries, but as agents of change—building bridges across communities and leading solutions for a just and secure future.

By integrating the WPS framework into our strategic work, HSS aims to contribute to a Syria where women are safe, heard, and empowered at all levels of decision-making.

النساء والسلام والأمن

في حلول الأمن الإنساني (HSS)، نؤمن بأن السلام المستدام والأمن الشامل لا يمكن تحقيقهما دون المشاركة الكاملة والحماية والقيادة الفاعلة للنساء. ويستند عملنا إلى مبادئ أجندة النساء والسلام والأمن (WPS)، كما أُقرّت في قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 1325 والقرارات اللاحقة.

لقد تأثرت النساء في سوريا بشكل غير متناسب بالنزاع، ومع ذلك يواصلن لعب أدوار جوهرية كـقياديات مجتمعات، وبناة سلام، وعاملات إنسانيات، ومدافعات عن العدالة. ونحن نؤمن بأن أصواتهن يجب أن تكون في قلب أي عملية تهدف إلى إعادة بناء المؤسسات، وإصلاح القطاع الأمني، وتحقيق العدالة والمصالحة.

دعم المشاركة الفعالة والهادفة للنساء في عمليات بناء السلام والأمن والحكم
إدماج المنظور الجندري في جميع برامجنا في إصلاح القطاع الأمني، والعدالة الانتقالية، ونزع السلاح، وبناء الدولة
تقديم التدريب والدعم والتوجيه للنساء الفاعلات في المجتمع المدني والقيادات المحلية
تنظيم جلسات حوار ومجموعات عمل ومشاورات لتسليط الضوء على أولويات النساء وخبراتهن
الدعوة لتطوير سياسات ومؤسسات أمنية حساسة للنوع الاجتماعي، تحمي النساء والفتيات وتمكنهن

ومن خلال فريق العمل النسائي لدينا، نتعاون مع نساء سوريات من خلفيات سياسية واجتماعية متنوعة لضمان أن تجاربهن وتطلعاتهن تسهم في صياغة مستقبل البلاد. فنحن لا نرى النساء كمستفيدات فحسب، بل كـصانعات تغيير يبنين جسور التفاهم ويقدن الحلول من أجل مستقبل عادل وآمن.

إن دمج إطار النساء والسلام والأمن في استراتيجيات عملنا يهدف إلى الإسهام في بناء سوريا تكون فيها المرأة آمنة، مسموعة، ومشاركة في اتخاذ القرار على جميع المستويات.
