Youth, Peace and Security

At Human Security Solutions (HSS), we believe that young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow—they are agents of peace, innovation, and resilience today. In a country like Syria, where more than half the population is under the age of 30, the role of youth is pivotal to shaping a peaceful and secure future.

Our commitment to the Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) agenda—as recognized in UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and its successors—guides our work in building inclusive processes where youth are empowered to participate meaningfully in decision-making, policy development, and community peacebuilding.

Young Syrians have demonstrated extraordinary courage in the face of conflict and marginalization. They are leading social movements, rebuilding their communities, and advocating for justice and accountability. Yet, they remain underrepresented in formal peace and security structures.

At HSS, we:

Provide training, mentorship, and platforms for youth to shape peacebuilding and security initiatives
Support youth-led organizations and networks across Syria and the region
Facilitate dialogue between young people and institutions to foster trust and inclusive governance
Encourage youth participation in transitional justice processes and civic reform
Promote policies that recognize the role of youth in preventing violence and sustaining peace

Through our Youth Task Force, we bring together young professionals, students, and activists to collaborate on initiatives at the intersection of peace, human security, and institutional reform. We view youth not as a risk factor, but as key partners in peace and drivers of creative, context-specific solutions.

By investing in youth leadership and amplifying their voices, HSS contributes to building a Syria where the next generation plays a central role in forging a peaceful, secure, and just society.

الشباب والسلام والأمن

في حلول الأمن الإنساني (HSS)، نؤمن بأن الشباب ليسوا فقط قادة المستقبل، بل هم صنّاع السلام، وروّاد الابتكار، ومصدر للمرونة في الحاضر. وفي بلد مثل سوريا، حيث يشكل الشباب أكثر من نصف السكان، فإن دورهم محوري في بناء مستقبل آمن وسلمي.

نلتزم في عملنا بأجندة الشباب والسلام والأمن (YPS)، كما نص عليها قرار مجلس الأمن رقم 2250 والقرارات اللاحقة، والتي تؤكد على أهمية إشراك الشباب في عمليات السلام، وصنع القرار، وبناء المجتمعات المستقرة.

لقد أثبت الشباب السوريون شجاعة استثنائية في مواجهة النزاع والتهميش. فهم يقودون المبادرات المجتمعية، ويعيدون بناء أحيائهم، وينادون بالعدالة والمساءلة. ومع ذلك، ما زال تمثيلهم في الهياكل الرسمية لصنع السلام والأمن محدودًا.

في HSS، نقوم بـ:

توفير التدريب والتوجيه والمنصات للشباب لتشكيل مبادرات في السلام والأمن
دعم المنظمات والشبكات الشبابية داخل سوريا وفي الشتات
تيسير الحوارات بين الشباب والمؤسسات لتعزيز الثقة وبناء الحوكمة الشاملة
تشجيع مشاركة الشباب في عمليات العدالة الانتقالية والإصلاح المدني
تعزيز السياسات التي تعترف بدور الشباب في الوقاية من العنف واستدامة السلام

ومن خلال فريق العمل الشبابي، نعمل على جمع المهنيين الشباب والطلاب والنشطاء لإطلاق مبادرات ترتبط بالأمن الإنساني والإصلاح المؤسسي وبناء السلام. نحن لا نرى في الشباب عامل خطر، بل شركاء أساسيين في السلام وقوة دافعة للحلول الإبداعية التي تنبع من السياق المحلي.

من خلال الاستثمار في قيادة الشباب وتضخيم أصواتهم، تسعى HSS إلى بناء سوريا يكون فيها للجيل القادم الدور الرئيسي في رسم ملامح مجتمع آمن وعادل وسلمي.
